RE - The Nativity Journey

Image
Today was RE day for the whole school and year 1 enjoyed a focus on the Nativity story, focussing mainly on the journey.  We started the day off by recapping the Nativity Story, which lots of people were very familiar with. We then ordered pictures of the nativity story to cement the story in our minds.  Later, we talked about a journey we had been on that had a nice ending. We then thought of different ways which could affect that journey and make it tricky to get our positive ending. Everyone shared great stories and came up with different ways that the stories could end badly.  We then talked about how the Nativity story would have been different if something bad had happened to one of the people in the Nativity story.  We also did some fantastic silhouette art based on the Nativity scene.

Science - What is poo?

Today we had an exciting afternoon, filled with everything poo!  The National Poo Museum came in and spoke to us about poo - bringing in all types of poo from all sorts of crazy animals!  We even smelled the poo of a Rock Hyrax (dates between 1000 and 50,000 years old) which is even used to make perfume. We loved holding a fossilised crocodile poo, which was turned to rock.
