History Trip - Classic Boat Museum (Castlehaven Class)

Image
We had a brilliant trip today as part of our History topic on Titanic. The children learnt about the lives of five people that were on board the Titanic and had some challenges to try and work out who each person was by studying the artefacts. The children then got to play and try on the different artefacts. We then had a chance to look round the museum at the different boats and artefacts and Dominic told us about the Mary Rose. The children were brilliant and listened really well and asked some good questions.

English - Hot-seating the penguin.

Today in English we were delighted to be joined by the penguin from our story. Last week we wrote some questions for him and today we got to ask them. We had to be super quiet as the penguin was very shy and nervous of loud noises. We listened very carefully to what he said and will be recording his answers tomorrow in our writing lessons.

Art - To identify different shapes in buildings.

Today we continued with our art topic on buildings. We looked at different photos of buildings and tried to see what different shapes we could find within them. We had a go at tracing around the shapes. We then had a go at drawing our own buildings using just 2D shapes.
