PE - sitting down throwing skills

 Today in PE, the children in freshwater class played a game similar to bowls where they had to practice their throwing skills and meet a ball at the other end of the hall. The person that was closest to the ball won the game. They also then practiced their catching skills.

Animal discovery

 Today we discovered a trapped animal in the school grounds. Year 1 were very eager to help the injured wild mammal, but had to be warned about keeping at a safe distance. We talked about who we should call in an animal emergency and the national charity: the RSPCA. We then acted out our great discovery in little groups and contacting the RSPCA to help. This is linked to our learning in English where a boy finds a whale in the story ‘The Storm Whale’.
