RE - I can understand that Christians celebrate harvest festival and identify things I am grateful for.

 Today was RE day for the whole school. In year 1, we looked at celebrations with a focus on harvest festival celebration. 

We started the day off by looking at various celebrations people have like birthdays, weddings and Halloween to name a few. We then looked at how we celebrate and the children decided they liked celebrating events with parties. 

For a successful party, you need to have invitations so people know to come to your party. We spent some time designing our own invitations to a party of our own choice. Have a look at some of our creations.

We then looked at harvest festival. We talked about what it was; how it started and why it started. We talked about what it looks like today and how it is celebrated today. 
The children were then asked to think of something they are thankful for. This could be good, family or even their favourite toys.
