Big Phonics - vowels and consonants

 This week, we have been looking at our long vowel sounds in phonics. For big phonics, we have focussed on identifying vowels and consonants in the alphabet. We listened to a rap on YouTube which was great and helped us identify that there are 5 vowels and 21 consonants. 

Have a look at us doing one of our activities today: making play dough vowels.

 As part of our work focussed around The Three Little Pigs, the children in year 1 drew the story plan of the story.  We started off by retelling the story and then going through the key 6 points from the story.
