Music - African Drumming Workshop

Year 1 enjoyed a special workshop today all about African drumming. We looked at lots of different African instruments including drums, African xylophones and percussion instruments such as shekeres.  We learnt that African instruments are made out of natural or recycled materials such as wood, animal skin, grass, dried seed pods or parts of tyres even! 

We had a go at playing different rhythms using bamboo sticks and then all had a go at playing different instruments. We made a lot of noise!
